Project Overview
The Margarita Remix program was a highly interactive digital activation designed to drive community engagement and brand loyalty through user-generated content (UGC). Operating as the sole digital designer, I architected a responsive web experience where users could submit their custom margarita recipes, upload images of their creations, and vote on community favorites in real time.
The Challenge
Interactive campaigns involving user-generated content introduce high UX friction. The digital experience required two distinct, complex user flows within a single microsite: a seamless, multi-step submission pipeline (requiring image uploads and text formatting for ingredients) and an engaging, easily searchable gallery grid for public browsing and instant voting. The UI had to remain incredibly intuitive on mobile devices while maintaining strict legal brand compliance for an alcohol-sponsored activation.
My Role & Digital Strategy
Interactive UX & Submission Flow Optimization: Designed a clean, frictionless recipe submission engine. I optimized the file-upload and text-input states to ensure users could effortlessly input measurements and upload photos from their mobile devices without drop-off.
Dynamic Gallery Design & Community Voting: Engineered a responsive card-based layout for the community gallery. I prioritized the visual weight of user-submitted images and implemented a prominent, instant-action voting system (like a "one-tap" heart or vote button) with clear active/disabled micro-interactions.
State-Driven UI Design: Meticulously mapped out every edge case and UI state within Figma, including empty gallery states (before entries were submitted), loading indicators during image uploads, success validation messages, and "already voted" disabled button states.
Component Efficiency & Clean Handoff: Created a unified design system in Figma utilizing responsive cards, unified form inputs, and custom iconography. This immaculate file organization allowed the front-end development team to implement complex interactive logic rapidly and without visual discrepancies.
