Project Overview
To drive retail velocity and incentivize product trial, Levity partnered with Avid Marketing Group to launch a digital "Shop, Snap, Earn" rebate program. As the lead digital designer, I architected a mobile-first web application that allowed consumers to seamlessly buy the product in-store, capture and upload a photo of their physical retail receipt, and instantly process their digital rebate.
The Challenge
Receipt validation mechanisms introduce massive user friction, typically resulting in high drop-off rates during the upload phase. The interface needed to guide users through capturing clear, legible receipts (handling environmental variables like poor lighting or long, folded papers) while cleanly navigating mandatory age verification gates. The structural challenge was balancing a strict utility-driven tool with Levity's lighthearted, premium brand identity, ensuring the layout remained fast, approachable, and conversion-focused.
My Role & Digital Strategy
Frictionless Upload UX Architecture: Designed a highly intuitive camera-integration and file-upload workflow. I incorporated clear contextual tooltips and visual framing guides to show users exactly how to position their receipts, drastically reducing user error and automated processing rejection rates.
Transactional State Mapping: Meticulously mapped out every single system state in Figma from initial upload and progress spinners to error handlings (e.g., blurry image, invalid file format, duplicate receipt) and successful validation confirmation screens.
Conversion-Driven Interface Layout: Structured the mobile viewport so that call-to-actions (CTAs) like "Take Photo" and "Upload Receipt" remained within the natural thumb-zone, minimizing screen interactions and creating a rapid path from retail purchase to reward delivery.
Scalable UI Design System: Maintained immaculate Figma file hygiene, building the workflow using an optimized library of responsive form elements, custom upload buttons, and structural modal states. This organized framework guaranteed a flawless, low-friction handoff to the engineering team for rapid deployment.
