Project Overview
Espolón Tequila partnered with Avid Marketing Group to launch a high-impact, custom digital microsite celebrating their exclusive Cinco de Mayo merchandise drop. Operating under an aggressive timeline, I served as the sole digital designer tasked with transforming Espolón’s static promotional poster assets and raw brand guidelines into a high-performance, responsive digital storefront activation.
The Challenge
The primary challenge was speed and scale. To capture the peak cultural momentum of Cinco de Mayo, the project required an overnight turnaround from creative brief to final engineering handoff. Furthermore, the digital interface had to perfectly capture Espolón's highly distinct, gritty, and underground print aesthetic translating intricate textures and raw type treatment into a clean, functional web environment without bloating page load speeds or breaking responsiveness.
My Role & Digital Strategy
Rapid Prototyping & Sprint Execution: Accelerated the standard design timeline by delivering a fully realized, multi-state responsive web prototype within 24 hours. By compressing the discovery phase, I delivered client-approved proofs instantly, allowing backend development to begin implementation without operational delays.
Seamless Cross-Media Brand Synthesis: Successfully adapted static, large-format print layouts into a high-performing digital user interface. I carefully analyzed their promotional poster assets to mirror their signature, heavy typographic treatments and high-contrast styling while maintaining strict web legibility standards.
Monochromatic UI Architecture: Engineered a minimalist, high-impact monochromatic interface that let the raw product and lifestyle photography take center stage. The layout achieved a premium, editorial feel that felt deeply authentic to the Espolón counter-culture brand ethos.
Optimized Developer Handoff: Leveraged a highly organized, tokenized design system within Figma. By maintaining flawless file hygiene, pre-building atomic button components, and setting clean responsive layout grids, I eliminated cross-functional friction, enabling the engineering team to deploy a pixel-perfect build on a hyper-accelerated timeline.
